Cookie & Tracking Policy

Last updated: 22/12/2025

This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how Hyaico Ltd (“Hyaico”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our websites or use the Just Cooked™ mobile application (together, the “Service”).

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

1. Who we are

The Service is provided by:

Hyaico Ltd
41 Woodcross Fold
Leeds, West Yorkshire
LS27 9JW
United Kingdom
Email: support@justcooked.app

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

  • Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website.
  • Local storage and session storage are browser-based storage mechanisms similar to cookies.
  • SDKs, device identifiers and similar technologies are used within mobile apps to perform comparable functions (e.g. remembering you, measuring performance, maintaining security).

We refer to all of these together as “cookies” or “tracking technologies” in this Policy.

3. Where we use them

We may use cookies and similar technologies:

  • On our websites (including landing pages, marketing pages and legal pages).
  • Within the Just Cooked™ mobile app (iOS and Android), via:
    • Local storage and cache on your device
    • App SDK identifiers and pseudonymous IDs
    • App store / subscription identifiers
    • Third-party SDKs (e.g. authentication, crash reporting, paywall management)

4. Why we use cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  1. Strictly necessary / essential
    • To operate the Service and enable core functionality.
    • Examples:
      • Keeping you logged in and managing your session.
      • Enforcing security and preventing abuse or fraudulent activity.
      • Remembering your basic settings and privacy choices.
  2. Functionality
    • To remember your choices and enhance your experience.
    • Examples:
      • Remembering your preferred language or region.
      • Remembering some app-level preferences so you don’t have to re-enter them.
  3. Performance and reliability
    • To understand how the Service performs and to detect issues (e.g. crashes).
    • Examples:
      • Crash logs and basic performance metrics.
      • Anonymous or aggregated statistics (e.g. which features are used most)
  4. Analytics and improvement (mobile app)
    • We use PostHog in the mobile app for product analytics to understand feature usage, monitor performance, debug issues and improve the Service.
    • PostHog operates via an SDK. We process in-app analytics under legitimate interests for service improvement, debugging and performance monitoring.
  5. Marketing and advertising (not currently used)
    • We do not currently use advertising or marketing cookies on the Just Cooked™ website or in the app.
    • If this changes in future, we will:
      • Update this Policy,
      • Provide clear information about what is used and by whom, and
      • Obtain consent where required before we set such cookies.

5. Types of cookies and technologies we use

5.1 Strictly necessary / essential

These are required for the Service to function. They may be set by us or by third parties acting on our behalf.

Examples include:

  • Session cookies to keep you signed in.
  • Security cookies to help detect and prevent malicious activity.
  • Authentication tokens used by our backend (e.g. Supabase) to verify your identity.
  • App store / subscription identifiers used to verify your Premium status.

You cannot disable these without breaking core functionality.

5.2 Functionality

These help remember settings and choices to make the Service more convenient.

Examples include:

  • Remembering that you are on a particular step or screen.
  • Remembering certain in-app UI or preference choices (where technically implemented).

If you disable these, the Service may still work but with reduced convenience.

5.3 Performance and reliability

These help us understand how the Service performs in aggregate and diagnose technical problems.

Examples include:

  • Crash reporting SDKs
  • Basic performance metrics, such as load times or error rates
  • Anonymous or aggregated statistics (e.g. which features are used most)

We use this information to maintain and improve the Service, not to build personal profiles for advertising.

5.4 Analytics (mobile app)

We use PostHog in the mobile app for product analytics. PostHog operates via an SDK using pseudonymous identifiers to link events within the App. We use it for:

  • Feature usage measurement
  • Debugging and performance monitoring
  • UX and service improvement

We do not use PostHog for advertising, marketing attribution or cross-app tracking. We configure analytics to minimise personal data where reasonably possible (e.g. aggregation, pseudonymisation).

We rely on legitimate interests to process in-app analytics.

5.5 Advertising (not currently used)

We currently do not use advertising cookies or SDKs.

If we decide to introduce them in future, we will:

  • Update this Policy,
  • Provide clear information about what is used and by whom, and
  • Obtain consent where required before we set such cookies.

6. Cookies and tracking in the Just Cooked™ mobile app

Within the mobile app, we may use:

  • Local storage / on-device cache – to store your preferences or data needed for offline use.
  • SDK identifiers and pseudonymous IDs – used to measure feature usage, monitor performance and debug issues.
  • Authentication tokens and encrypted keys – to keep your account secure and maintain your session.
  • Subscription and entitlement identifiers – used by app stores and subscription management services to verify that you have access to Premium features.
  • SDKs for security, crash reporting and performance – to help detect issues and maintain reliability.

These app technologies are used for core functionality, security and product analytics (and not for advertising).

7. Managing your cookie and tracking preferences

7.1 On the website (browser)

Most web browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are stored.
  • Delete cookies.
  • Block cookies for specific sites.
  • Block third-party cookies.
  • Clear local storage and similar data.

You can usually find these controls under your browser’s “Settings”, “Privacy” or “Security” menus.

Be aware:

  • Blocking or deleting cookies may cause some features of the website to work less reliably or not at all.
  • Strictly necessary cookies are required for basic operation.

7.2 In the mobile app

Control options include:

  • Operating system settings – for example:
    • Controlling which apps can use mobile data, background refresh, etc.
  • App-level settings (where implemented) – you may be able to adjust certain privacy or telemetry settings within the Just Cooked™ app itself.

Disabling certain permissions or identifiers may reduce functionality or prevent some features from working correctly (e.g. login, subscription verification, push notifications).

8. Do Not Track and similar signals

Some browsers and devices allow you to send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is currently no consistent industry standard for how to respond to these signals.

At present, we do not specifically respond to DNT signals. We will review this if and when an accepted standard emerges.

You can still use the other controls described in this Policy to manage cookies and tracking technologies.

9. Relationship with our Privacy Policy

This Cookie & Tracking Policy is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy.

  • The Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and your rights.
  • This Policy focuses specifically on cookies and similar technologies.

If anything in this Policy conflicts with the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy prevails for data protection purposes.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie & Tracking Policy from time to time, for example if:

  • We introduce new cookies, SDKs or tracking technologies;
  • We start using analytics or advertising cookies;
  • Legal or regulatory requirements change.

When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page; and
  • Take reasonable steps to inform you, for example via the website or within the app.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect will constitute your acceptance of the updated Policy.
